Pineapple Guava Tree

The Pineapple Guava also known as Feijoa is an evergreen perennial shrub or small tree that typically matures to 10-15’ tall. Pineapple Guava cultivated as an ornamental for its evergreen foliage or as a fruiting shrub. Even the flower petals of the Pineapple Guava are completely edible and taste like bubblegum. You can eat them right off the plant, toss them into a salad, add them to iced tea, or make jelly. The fruit will show up in the fall and is ripe when they drop off of the shrub. The Pineapple Guava’s kiwi-sized fruit has waxy green skin and soft succulent flesh similar to a pear in texture. The green fruit develops a sweet fragrance even before it fully ripens in the fall. Pineapple Guava tastes like a cross between pineapple and guava with a hint of mint.
